Holiday Look / Vintage Top & Leather Pants
Merry Christmas, friends! I hope you're spending the day snuggled up with the ones you love, or decked out to the nines in something that makes you feel beautiful. As for me, I like to be somewhere in between.
I used to be obsessed, and I mean OB-SESSED with vintage shopping. I would scour the racks of my favorite thrift stores every weekend, looking for unique pieces to style into my wardrobe. There was no greater glee than a thrift "score" for mere dollars that felt (and looked!) like a million bucks.
Nowadays, with running a company, a household, and two tiny tots to chase after, I barely have time for my blurry-eyed, late night, online shopping. (Side note, do NOT order liquid silver palazzo pants from Nasty Gal at midnight, thinking they will be good for NYE. Unless you are over 5'8. And very thin.)
But when I visited my sister recently in my hometown of Glendale, Arizona, I was super excited to jump back on the thrift-store-shopping-bandwagon. And not just because it had been so long, but because the thrift outside of the picked-over and sparse shops in LA is SO GOOD.
Scores were made. Many, many scores. One of which was this amazing, vintage, ruffle, Ralph Lauren Christmas top I found for... (wait for it) $3 bucks! Boom! Obsession reborn.
It feels very Gwen Stefani on The Voice (if The Voice had a Holiday Special) and I knew I wanted to wear it to my own Christmas party, surrounded by my own family and crew.
So here you have it... What I'm wearing Christmas Day. I paired it with my trusty faux leather pants, and these Calvin Klein Zandra Pumps that are surprisingly comfortable. Very minimal jewelry because this top is loud enough, right?
Sending love from my household to yours!
