What We Wore on Thanksgiving
Well, I'm home today under a pile of To Do lists for work and home... Would you believe we're still in the midst of turkey day, patio clean-up (the party was epic), and haven't even unpacked half of our Christmas decorations from storage? But I decided to steal a moment anyway, and share my outfit from Thanksgiving day (and my Stella's, too - hers was better than mine!) before I get back to the grind.
I had this idea that I was going to wear a sparkly skirt I scored from White House Black Market, with maybe a chunky knit sweater, and comfy flats for entertaining. But I pulled out a vintage, pale blue cashmere sweater I found while shopping with my sister in AZ last month and decided on that instead. Paired with my favorite faux leather pants and heirloom pearls in honor of my late Mother in Law (we were dining on her china, after all), it seemed to suit the mood a bit more.
But it was my baby girl who really impressed me (and everyone else) with her petite fashion and blooming sense of style that day.
While shopping at Target for holiday decorations the week before, she had spotted a gorgeous, pink bird ornament with a clip, and asked me if she could wear it in her hair. I thought it might be too big and tried to persuade otherwise, but she insisted it would be fabulous.
Now I feel bad I was ever a doubter. Look at her! She had her auntie Leah (our resident Séchoir hairstylist) put it up with braids and fresh leaves and she looked just like a little angel.
Made a mama proud, that's for sure.
